Village of Takoma Park is pleased to host a flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic on October 18, 2023, at the Long Branch Community Center (8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Free transportation (courtesy of Jewish Council for the Aging) will be available via a bus circulating in a continuous loop between the Takoma Metro Kiss and Ride drop off spot, Victory Tower (7041 Carroll Ave.), the Franklin Apartments (7620 Maple Ave.), and the Long Branch Community Center. The first pickup will be at the Takoma Metro at 9 AM. The full loop will take 30-45 minutes. Full members of the Village of Takoma Park can also request a ride to and from their residence by contacting the Village (sandyeganretired@gmail.com or 301-646-2109) before Oct. 10.
Age limits: Flu vaccines are available for ages three and up and Covid for ages five and up.
Open to all. Registration required.
What to bring:

a photo ID or other ID with your name, address and date of birth

insurance cards (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and Prescription Card, if any)

a signed Giant Pharmacy consent form if you have insurance (click here to access it). We will have forms available if you are unable to fill one out in advance.

If you have them, please bring your vaccination card(s) as well. This will ensure that vaccinations are reported to both your health insurance company and the State of Maryland’s ImmuNet database.
Vaccinations are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. It is best to check with your private insurance provider on the coverage they provide. Professionals from Giant Pharmacy will administer vaccines to those with insurance.
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will be at the clinic to provide vaccinations at no cost for those without insurance or for those whose insurance does not cover vaccinations.
Flu and Covid vaccinations can prevent illness, limit severity, medical visits, hospitalization, and death. These vaccinations are especially important for those with compromised immune systems and chronic health conditions. Get your flu shot and updated COVID-19 vaccine today to keep your family and community safe.
The updated COVID-19 vaccines more closely target circulating variants. Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, eligible patients can receive a single dose of an updated COVID-19 vaccine at least two months after their last dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Village of Takoma Park is partnering on the vaccination clinic with Giant Pharmacy, SmithHomeLife, Little Falls Village, the Village to Village Network and Montgomery County.
This project is part of a grant to the Village to Village Network from the National Council on Aging.
