About this event

Visit to Crossroads Farmers Market

WHAT:  Guided visit to Crossroads Farmers Market including a Healthy Cooking Demo

WHEN: Wednesday, June 19, 10:30 AM

WHERE: Anne St. at University Blvd. East, Takoma Park, MD. Meet at the Crossroads Tent

Crossroads Farmers Market is a lively community gathering space for people of all backgrounds and incomes, where families, foodies, neighbors, gardeners, live-music fans, and coffee lovers meet every Wednesday afternoon to eat lunch and stock up on fresh ingredients for the week ahead.

This producers-only farmers market features a range of vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, honey, coffee, flowers and plants, Central American herbs and tasty prepared foods, as well as food demos and tastings, kids’ activities, live music, free health screenings, and other seasonal events.

Seniors 65 and over show their ID and receive $5 in Fresh Checks metal tokens to spend on fresh food at the Market. They can do this each week through November.

Anyone on SNAP can swipe their Independence Card at the Market's EBT machine, and the Market will match the amount spent up to $50 every week.

Shoppers paying with Senior FMNP benefits can redeem their FMNP vouchers directly with the farmers, then get a matched amount in Fresh Checks to buy more healthy food.

This event is free and open to all.

Registration required.

We can provide transportation for Village members.
