Discussion of the Documentary "9to5: The Story of a Movement"

March is Women's History Month.  To celebrate one aspect of women's history, we will discuss the film 9to5: The Story of a Movement with one of the founders of this movement, former Takoma Park resident Ellen Cassedy.   9to5 documents a movement of female office workers seeking better pay, greater opportunity, and an end to sexual harassment.  This movement became the inspiration of the comedy with a statement, Nine to Five, featuring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton.

You can watch the documentary online for free, through March 3 at:   https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/videos/9to5-the-story-of-a-movement/.  The film is about 90 minutes long.

Registration is members only until Feb. 24, when the event will be open to all.  To register, log in, and look for the "Register Now" button to the right.  If you have trouble logging in, or don't remember your username, contact us at villageoftp@gmail.com or 301-646-2109.
