Join us for a 10:45 am 30-minute guided tour of Cedar Hill, the home where Frederick Douglass lived from 1877 until his death in 1895; see exhibits in the Visitor Center; watch a 20-minute film, “Fighter for Freedom,”; and explore the grounds.
The City of Takoma Park Recreation Department is providing a bus at no cost.
Bus will depart the TP Community Center Parking Lot at 9:00 am.
For return, bus will leave at 12:30 pm., arriving back at Community Center approx. 1:10 pm.

Those traveling on their own should plan to arrive at the site by 10:00 am. Site is 40 minutes by car without traffic. There is ample parking.
Public transportation: Red line to Fort Totten. Green Line from Fort Totten to Anacostia. Take Bus B2 or V2 to the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site.
Assistive devices are available for those with low vision and/or hearing loss. The second floor of the house is accessible by stairs only. Staff can provide a photo tour of the second floor for any visitors unable to reach it.
